AKA: Booze, 'the bottle', drink, liquor, juice, sauce. APPEARANCE: Alcohol (technically ethyl alcohol, or ethanol) is produced by fermenting or distilling various fruits, vegetables, or grains and is widely available from shops and stores in bottles, cans etc. METHOD: consumed orally. EFFECTS: Flushed skin, impaired judgment, decreased inhibitions, loss of muscular coordination, slurred speech, memory and comprehension loss. LOOK OUT FOR: Alcohol abuse leading to significant social, occupational, medical impairment, possibly leading to alcohol tolerance due to increased amounts of alcohol required to achieve intoxication. AKA: fags, ciggies, smokes APPEARANCE: Tobacco is the dried leaves of the plant Nicotiana Tabacum, Nicotiana Rustica and Nicotiana Persica. METHOD: Chewed, sniffed in snuff form and smoked. EFFECTS: Tobacco contains the drug 'nicotine' which has a complex effect on the brain's activity. LOOK OUT FOR: Discoloured fingers, smell on clothes and some first time users can suffer a feeling of nausea, dizziness vomiting. |
